Overleaf can be accessed through the browser on your iPad and other mobile and tablet devices, although some functionality may be limited. We’re still working on providing fuller support for mobiles and tablets.

If you run into any issues, we suggest first trying an alternative browser to see if that helps. Using the Visual Editor instead of the Code Editor can also help in some scenarios:

If switching editors does not resolve your issue(s), please bear with us whilst we work to improve support for mobile devices. Please follow our blog for the latest announcements about editor improvements.

Known issues and areas for improvement

  • Size of touch targets.
  • Keyboard pop-up and zoom behavior when accessing some areas of the editor(s).
  • Scrolling behavior consistency in each pane of the editor(s) (file tree, text editing pane, and preview pane) and with different input methods (touchscreen and trackpads).
  • Copy/paste into the Code Editor. As a workaround, you can copy and paste into the Visual Editor.
